This is a much better repop of what the correct one would look like.

Here's the original to my '68 Charger... Of course, I'll be getting another one soon...... Freshly some-what-restored car doesn't deserve this.......

Edit: Let me state that I'm "assuming" it's the original cap. For, when I took this car apart, everything in the engine compartment appeared original and unrestored (unfortunately the original motor was gone). So, this gave me no doubt this is the original cap.

I thought the large brass rivet was a 1970 thing.

Man, please don't take this wrong, but does it really matter ??  I guess I will never be that picky about little things like that.  On the other hand I will never own a 100,000 Dollar car.  :Twocents:
Also, it is nice to view other cars restored 100 percent correct.

The thing is ACUDANUT if one likes to do the Concour's type car shows and do well in the judging, you may find the correct style of radiator cap to be important. Or even if you're asked to judge at shows its important to know what is correct.  I don't see where it hurts to ask.  :Twocents:

I have never had good luck with the small rivet repro caps....went through 3 junk ones.  I currently run the large rivet cap (technically incorrect for 68-69)for this reason

Brass Dome cap used from the early 60's on - small rivet cap seen on many original cars on many years.

I quit using the repro caps because they didn't seem to hold up very well. I've had much better luck with the replacement cap from MOPAR. Its not correct but seems to be a better part.   :Twocents:     Although I do keep a repro in case I decide to do the Concours type of show.
