what should it be a 69 R/T SE VIN ? XP29 or XS29 ?

and if XP29 is an SE and XS29 and R/T ( and XX is 500 or Daytona ), what is the basic Charger VIN ?

what are the engine codes ? I know U is 440, V should it be 440-6 ( even not available on 69 ). what about the rest ?

sorry, I'm not in codes beside som 3rd gens ones, and forgott everything I did know about  earliers

The SE designation will be on the broadcast sheet and the fender tag. Not on the VIN. Code is A47. Hope this helps...

ok, fender tag missed AND serious doubts about find buildsheet being missed front buckets and lot of interior...unless down rear bench and nobody removed it.

Does have SE emblems though and woodgrained clsuster

question keep going about Engine codes.

With the emblems and the wood-grain dash, odds are it is an SE, if unmolested. If you grind down the paint around the emblems and there are no other holes for the base "Charger" logo, I would say that would be convincing enough. The front buckets "should" have leather inserts and most SE models have the chrome pedal dress ups. Not all though. It should have the added light group option more than likely as well. Map light, glove box light etc...

yeah does have chrome pedals trim... I still have not seen personally yet, but will do today. Does have apparently 440, but if VIN was rightly typed by SMS is XP2909Bxxxxxx , so soes look not matching numbers.

Has been told does need lot of job, so I don't think will get even is my dream car and the perfect candidate for a 01 on doors beings is not something really special, not matching and lot of job. But I'm really out of founds.

Is also the actual owner dreams car, but does look some tired of it since has been unable to enjoin it in 5 years since he found abandoned on a mechanical shop. Got lots of ingorant mechanicals working on it.

The VIN probably says "XP29G9B..." which would make it a 383 2-bbl car. The 5th digit is the engine code and there isn't one that corresponds to '0' (zero) or 'O' (capital letter o).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

bigred68

Sure would like to see pictures!

Nacho-RT74

thats what I thought about the engine, being a G instead an O. Will take pics for sure. but please don't cry about it! I know has been some hacked... aftermarket gauges on original locations, 70s A body console... dunno what buckets has been mounted....

Damn I know I can't beging a new project right now!!!!

Apparently you don't either? (That's a dead link) :P Two r's together in www.1969chargerregistry.com.

Here's a page that may help: http://www.1969chargerregistry.com/stats.html although I looked first (before I replied above) and only saw the link to another site for a VIN decoder.

LOL...

ok guys just saw it... will post pics later. LOT of job needed. Owner want to try to restore and I'll push to do it!!!

yes is G and the 383 is still on car with manifold changed to 4 bbls. Original 2 bbls manifols is on trunk, so I guess is matching number. Didn't want to dig my hands on dirt and grease searching for Serial numbers or stamped displacement pad, so to be sure is BB and not RB compaired my 400 with this one. Same width

Is the perfect GL candidate, being is TAN INTERIOR... well what still left LOL. needs all the interior except pillars, upper rear pads. Dash pad is cracked as usual. A/C car, Auto, 8 3/4, single exhaust. definitelly an SE because the trim left ( woodgrain, pedal bezels, emblems )

really will neeed lot of care

also needs a complete rewiring job. trim is complete although not installed. just couple of moldings lost. I think one of the rear windshield corners is one of them.

Grille is a repro he got from some USA vendor BUT ARRIVED BROKEN!!! and with one of the actuators missed. He had to glued it back. still needing of course the grill trim

here the original conditions when he found 5 years ago
