nice warm sunny day..the ol lady is busy on deadline so I have a day off this weekend...took a nice cruise in the Charger , came to my shop and started tearing down my chopper, for the fourth time in 12 years to do yet another makeover...all new wiring, updating the ignition, re-powdercoating everything...I might even change the paint scheme...

the bike has been sitting for about 8 months, and needs everything re-done...guy I bought it back from trashed it. I have a few improvements planned, like running the battery hidden in the reserve tank...

this will only leae me 1.8 gallons of fuel, which is enough for around town bopping. not a freeway bike in any case...the goal is to get it all looking sano again...got the front wheel rehabbed...

in about 3 weeks the whole bike will be this clean and tight again.

then I think I might pull all the panhead parts I have down off the shelves and build alittle 60's style Digger for a show Im having in LA in June. maybe give the Charger a break now that its running good.

after about 4-5 hours tearing the bike down i figured I should naybe do some 'real' work....Christie's London Auction house has been bugging me for a piece so I dusted off a recent blank sculpt I hade leftover froma production run and did a handpaint color scheme onit..came out nice, I blended all the paints with silver and gold metallic clears so its real interesting....just needs a inal clearcoat and then I can ship it off to the UK tommorrow....

making toys and toy-related art is a pretty weird way to make a living...but it is pretty fun, so I can't complain.

now its 3:30 and I am undecided whether to paint another piece or get back on the chopper teardown.

Nice Chopper project Frank ! I like the PM calpipers and Rigid frame...definately a Bar Hopper kind of build.  :icon_smile_big:

That looks like a Shovelhead motor in the cradle  :scope:....are you planning to go Panhead ?

Cool looking toy....looks like something from the movie "Monsters INC"

this one is staying with the shovelhead, its been a great motor.the frame is an old Paughco wishbone. cool frame.

I have most of a '57 panhead and a bunch of wacky vintage chopper parts that I will most likely put together starting next month with an eye to selling it at my exhibit in June down in LA. The gallery guy wants me to have a vehicle as well as the usual paintings and sculptures, and there isnt enough time to build anything but a bike.

it sure is but if it pays the bills, let you build a killer Charger and still have you rebuild your shopper then hell, you got it all together, bro  :2thumbs:
