I like the idea of keeping the stock appearance, while improving/modernizing the drivetrain. The 471 is good, but I don't see a problem w/the 440(maybe a 540 stroker?), it just bolts in/out. My '70 is column shift, & I'm not changing it. I think mag500's w/wht walls would be kool. Do they make 17" wht walls? They would look good on these AR500's.

I have under UBS I have a B under the U.

Does it mean it have a 1/B - Black Horizontal stripe??????

What do you all think??? Am I wrong?

A black stripe on a black car would not make sense.  :shruggy:

My tag.

'U' (in UBS) stands for upper door panel paint. Yours is black to match your interior. You'd need a code under the 'S' to have a stripe (which was only available on an R/T).

I was confused by what I read on this thread.

Is there such a thing as a horizontal stripe?

Not on a 68 Charger (that I know of). Remember, these tags were for all Chrysler cars. Barracudas, Darts, and GTXs had a side stripe option but I don't know the codes.

I think they are referring there to the black pinstripe which sometimes ran along the upper beltline.
