Got a question. if there is even any members in that area of the country.

Seems my 5 year old son loves the Miami Dolphins, (who knew right? ) Anyways he asked for a set of sheets and bedspread for christmas. I've searched the internet, and find a few sets but was wondering if anyone was local to the area and knew of some more. IE here in Indy there are the sets on the NFL page as well as others, but then there are sets that are offered up by local retail stores that aren't listed online and that are much cheaper. Anyone know of anything like that for the Miami area? Crazy kid asked for the sheet set, and a white Jake Long jersey for Christmas. What kid wants a jersey of an offensive lineman?

Grew up in South Florida and a life-long Dolphins fan since the late 60's...... (yeah, I know I was only 5 in '69, but I still watched the games with Dad.  :nana:

I'll look as well.....

Tried all of those Troy. If I can't find anything else we will probably go the route of the NFLshop.com bedspread. I was just figuring that there was some local stores that would carry it as well, possibly with a slight change in design, for a lot lower price. I mean he is 5, so how picky can he be right? Oh wait then again he is a spitting image of his dad, and he already said that his piggy bank is his savings for a Daytona. He told me yesterday that he will have about $90,000 saved by the time he is 20, and was wondering if that would be enough to get a Daytona then.

Troy, I'm sure there in Houston you guys can find a ton of Texans jerseys for cheap right? I know here in Indy you can pick up a cheap kids jersey for the Colts at Walmart for like $10, but I can't find a kids jersey for the Dolphins online for under $45. There has gotta be a cheaper route right?

I'll take a look here. I'm in Daytona but this state is a tourist trap with stores on every block that sell that kind of stuff. I'll see what I can find while I'm out doing my shopping. Mike

Now if he was older I wouldn't really care about spending $50 for a jersey. But when they are 5 by the time they wear the shirt for 5 months it doesn't fit anymore. So to me no sense in wasting $50 for a really nice one that isn't going to be worn for longer than 8-10 months.

Raising your kid up right, huh?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Well I let him root for whatever teams he wants, but when dad happens to watch the Dolphins every week, I guess it is bound to wear off some right?

Didn't forget about you! Still shopping. Seems to be just as expensive here though. I know it's getting to close to Christmas but I'll keep my eyes open. Mike

I'm holding out hope that my distant aunt can find one down there in the Miami area, if she doesn't call me by Saturday though I'll break down and order them through the miami dolphins website. Should have asked a while ago, but like most things I'm a procrastinator at everything but going to look at cars.

We use to have a place here in the Tampa Bay area that was a NFL licensed store. It went under a few years ago due to more people buying cheaper on the internet. No tax and better pricing as they didn't have the overhead of a main street shop.   Now it's tough to find anything that isn't your home team.. Hell, Bucs stuff use to be everywhere around here. Now not so much..

Good luck buddy...

I was just telling him. All I am seeing over here in Daytona and Orlando is Bucs and Jags. But nothing is cheap! I guess nobody in retail is hurting that much yet at least from the prices I have seen on that stuff.

They cannot sell below what the NFL says they can sell anything licensed for.
