Why are the "Proven Engine Combos" and the "Cars For Sale, etc" sections labeled Child Boards?

Ghoste

Because they are subsections of other areas.  Engine, transmsission, and rearend in one case and online swap meet in the other.

bull

Like my children are "subsections" of me? :shruggy:

Don't worry Bull it took me a while to get it too.  I thought it was a board for kids then figured out it was a IT term for the computer savy type. LOL

Ghoste

Your children analogy works Bull.  Where I put sub-section, just think offspring.

You would think the software would sooner choose a word like "subsection" over one like "child" to describe what's going on there but whatever.

Ghoste

Yeah, you got me.  It's probably to make it "easy" to understand for the non-tech's like us? :shruggy:

You think that is strange, at work here all our company drives are named after the characters of the show "Cheers".  Seems it was a popular show among the IT guy when they were set up.

"Themes" are common among those crazy IT guys. :D One place I worked used Scooby Doo characters, another used planets, another used famous artists, and one named them all after mathematicians (Pythagoras, Archimedes, Ptolemy, Diophantus, etc.).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Over at Cuda-Challenger.com, the "Babes Pics" section is a child board.
