After reading the Forgotten and Neglected thread I thought you all would like to hear about this one.

Back in 04 I was driving around one day and I came across a car that looked like a Satellite or Road Runner. It was behind a fence and one row away from the fence so it was quite hard to tell what it could be but I stopped and decided to check it out anyways. The place was an Auto repair shop away from the mainstream places and it had a reputation that the owner was an old guy with not the greatest personality. In any event I decided to check this out so I parked my truck and walked into the place and asked if the cars on the lot were for sale, he said look but don't touch and let him know what I may be interested in. I went out to look and he had cars dating from the late 30's thru the 90's on his lot and they were all over. I was looking around and then I decided to look at the car that caught my eye, the first thing that I noticed was the missing grill and bumper, next was the holes in the fender, I couldn't understand why anyone would mount a mirror or horns on a fender top. Then I saw the A-Pillar Molding and I almost crap my pants, I quickly went to the back of the car and it all came together then, it was a bird sitting there. It had no front nose, scoops or rear wing on it but every way you looked at it you could tell it was a bird. He said I could look under the hood so when I lifted it there was a 440 in there but it was not correct. The fender tag was removed and the car was placed between two other cars so opening the doors was impossible and the dash pad had a carpet covering the vin plate. The interior was nice, buckets console auto and the dash looked unmolested.  I decided to take a few pics of it before I went in the office to talk to the owner and these are them. The care may not look solid but let me tell you, it was really nice. It did have some surface rust where the paint had thinned out but the underneath was in great condition. The brown sections on the sides of the car is not rust but a RED paint that looks Brown, looks like it was painted a funky design maybe in the 70's or 80's. Long story short, he had the nose, scoops and wing inside his shop but would not let anyone see them and when I asked about purchasing the car he said make him an offer which I did, I started at 20 and he said not enough. I told him I needed a few days to see how much money I could get together and I did make another offer then which was twice as much. He said he would think about it and asked me if I could stop back in a few weeks, I agreed and when I returned the fence was chained up and no one was there. I continued to come stop by and it was still the same, closed and chained up. A few weeks later I stopped by and all the cars were gone, I asked around and found out the guy died and the wife sold all the cars in the lot to the scrapper yard.
I almost fell to my knees when I heard that, it was gone forever.........

I would have to think it was originally White because the engine compartment was white but anything could have changed.
What do you know about the white one you mentioned?
I asked allot of questions on the net back then about the color scheme on this car and someone had mentioned that they had remembered a car in the S. Carolina  or Virginia that was like this one.....
