I need to polish some billet parts. does anyone know if billet and mag wheel polish are the same?

I duno about that>> there is a product called "never dull" and if i remember correctly, polishes anything, i have seen it at Walmart for like 5-10 bucks

All billet means is that it was machined from a single piece basically.  As far as polishing it, you can use the same metal polishes you would use for other parts of the same material.  In this case I would guess you are polishing aluminum?

superduperbee

Polishing aluminum billet, guess it's ok to use my Eagle mag wheel polish then?

Ghoste

Don't see any reason why not, your aluminum isn't anodized or clear coated right?

superduperbee

I don't think it's anodized or they wouldn't recommend polishing before installation.

Why did they recommend not polishing before installation??? what kind of parts is it??
I would think it was a hell of a lot easier to do it BEFORE installation!! :shruggy:
If it is a "raw" machined billet part, you need to use a polishing machine, to avoid sitting for a year, by hand!! :shruggy:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

I think he means the reason he believes it isn't anodized is because if it was then they wouldn't do what they are, which is to recommend polishing before installation.  :icon_smile_wink:
