As some of you know, this was my former '70 v-code Charger R/T. I purchased the car in '84/'85, restored her, i(n '80's fashion), got her in MuscleCar Review as a feature and being young, drove her for my daily driver for early 10 years and eventually, in '95, traded it even up for my current '68 Hemi Charger R/T...

The new owner of the '70 now has added additional pictures to his ebay ad... Man, talk about going down memory lane... There are so many things I see that are exactly the way I had/left them from '85-'95.

On a side note, this is the first '70 Charger R/T Frank over at Legendary ever did. The original seat covers were the template for their '70 pattern..  :icon_smile_big:

My old '70 Charger R/T on ebay now

1. the way I found her near Knoxville, TN
2. Daily driver status
3. Musclecar Review story
4. Current owner.......

Absolutely. A Hemi '68 is King (unless your heart belongs with an aero car, that is.  ;D  )

What is going on with the bumblebee stripe on that car? Was it put on backwards? Cheap repop? Painted on? It always attracts my eyes and throws off the look of the whole car. Or is it just me :shruggy:
I really like the as found pic, looks like it was in decent shape. I think you made a great trade too.

I laugh at myself on that one.. Then, back in '85, I was 21 years young wet-behind-my-mopar-ears... Believe it or not, I had never seen a '70 R/T in person before with the bubble bee stripe. All had the longitudinal... I didn't know the resources and information I do now.. So I took the famous plum crazy picture in the '70 Charger brochure, measured the dimensions of the width by eye-balling the picture of the side of the car relative to the rear side marker light and went straight across.. There wasn't a picture from the top.... Sooo, that was my fatal error.... It was painted on using a semi-gloss black to duplicate a decal........  The car is a stripe delete actually........  Man, I remember thinking about this as if it was yesterday...... 24 years later............     :icon_smile_big:

I just thought it looked strange. Figured it must have been painted on to not have been corrected over the years. Whoever was in charge of doing Mopar stripes back in the day sure had their shit together. In every case they thought of everything and I have yet to see anyone aftermarket a stripe that even comes close to looking what they were doing back then.

I am still learning new things about these cars everyday.

Here's a more correct stripe that is also on ebay:

It was nice of them to take the same angle pic :2thumbs:

I have seen a 1970 Swinger stripe put on backwards :scratchchin: as well as a 1969 Super Bee with the Bees flying toward the back end of the car :brickwall:

Personally love the Rallyes... I found the Rallyes she had when I owned her at a yard sale, complete for $100 !!!

She just doesn't look right to me with those road wheels, albeit, I believe that's what she came with. She had her original spare in the trunk, a F70x14 Goodyear polyglas GT.... Never had seen the road when I got her... One faithful day though, I had to use it....

Here's a few 'different' stripe ideas I've found over the years.  ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

The bronze car in those pictures appears to have a glass sunroof on it as well.

first look at that bronze and it gave me a Dart feeling  :shruggy:

Thanks for posting the 2 pics of the stripes. Wasn't much of a chance of me picking up on why that other one was not factory correct.  :yesnod:

I kinda like that double stripe. That's cool.  :coolgleamA: :2thumbs:

Not too keen on any of the other stripe variants though.
