Can anyone source 1/2 x 5/16 fittings for my new B&M SuperCooler?

Hey folks, I'm hoping someone can help me resolve what should be a simple problem. I purchased a B&M SuperCooler that has 1/2" female threads. I want to use my 5/16" metal trans lines to make the cooler look fairly stock. I purchased 4' sections of 5/16 trans lines with 5/16 male fittings on each end. I am having NO luck on finding a 1/2" male x 5/16 female flare reducer ANYWHERE? Home Depot dont stock many 5/16 fittings and neither does Lowes. Also, the Advance Auto and AutoZone do not have the fittings (which I find odd since they sell the lines).

Can anyone help me find these things? I could us the above fitting or use a compression fitting in 5/16 and cut off the end of the trans line (flare now) and use the compression fitting if that can handle the pressure. I can use a straight reducer or a 90 degree one either. I can bend the lines to work with just about any combo.

Since I have an in and an out I need (2) sets of these fittings. If anyone cares to sell me these fittings let me know and I'll either PayPal you or mail you a MO or Check.

Thanks for any thoughts or directions in this issue.

Mike, i just went through this but i'm using braided line and double clamping it at both ends. I bought the 1/2in reducers and 5/16 barbed fittings at Home Depot. Go figure....i went to 5 auto parts stores and nobody had anything. Also went to two plumbing supply wharehouses...same deal !  :P

Check with Chris (Just69)...he has the same cooler and plumbed hardlines to his.

Ron, Chris sent me some good pics of his setup a while back. I asked him about where he sourced the fittings and he said he got them from work. He must work at a place that can source the correct size as he had 90 degree units and the needed reducer and flare nut.

I mocked up the lines and it looks really good so want to stick with the setup. I never thought this would be the hard part...  :shruggy:

Mike, you should Know by now...nothing is easy with these cars.  I keep telling myself that troubleshooting is half the fun....that makes me either delusional or crazy.  :icon_smile_big:

I'm sure Chris can help you out with some fittings....might cost you a few beers though at Carlisle.  ;)

Chris, thanks for any help. I have one more lead to follow up on today or tomorrow and if I can get the fittings I'll let you know. In the meantime, here is the image and the fittings I need. I need (2) sets of what is in the box.

Try someone that handles hydraulic hoses and fittings. A quick search on the net brings up Rusco Hydraulics in your area.

Is that a 1/2 pipe thread or is it a straight thread?

I may have a good lead. One of my customers is a plumbing supply company and one of the guys told me to come down at lunch and he'll try to help me. He likes projects just like I do.

Chris, I'll email you if we can call off the search!

Thanks all.
