i bought a flaming river manual steering gearbox and cant find the right pitman arm to fit the spline on it.  im trying to drive it by the weekend to my parents house but its hard to steer with no pitman arm lol.  so whats the part number or can someone give me a link as to where i can get the pitman arm?

Rolling_Thunder

it might be the newer 73 and later arm - is the old one too small to fit on the new splined shaft

no the old one was to large to fit on the shaft

Any chance you contacted Flaming River?  They would be the ones to ask what fits on their product :Twocents:

yes i called them and they told me any manual steering pitman arm from 66-mid 70's mopar would fit and i should just get it from my local parts store. however i tried this and the part was wrong twice now from 2 different places  :'(

That is probably your problem.  The early style pitman arm (same for maual or power) is very hard to get and when you do find it its around $150.  The one you are getting from your local store is the (I believe) '73 & later style which is readily available but has a different size diameter spline...(of which this style does offer a difference between manual & power steering)

NAPA shows they have it on their site...
