This is the color combination I'm going for on my clone.  ;)

B5 with white interior :2thumbs:

This same place has two other Daytonas for sale too. Really pricey, but maybe I'll play the lotery next week :shruggy:

Anybody know if this B5 car really is Daytona #1 like the seller claims?

Ghoste

Good God, it's on sale too!!  Was 550,000 now reduced to only 495,000 dollars.  ;)

You would think for that kind of $$$ all the details would be correct.
Nice looking car though...I am really digging white interior cars lately.

There are a number of problems with their claim.  First, it's not the lowest VIN Daytona - that distinction belongs to 287970, which is a Daytona in every sense of the term except for having A11 on its Fender Tag or Broadcast Sheet.  Secondly, this B5 car is not the first shipped Daytona - since the proud owner of the car with that honor is DC.com member maxwellwedge.  Thirdly, the S.O. number for this car is 926020, meaning it was the twentieth (or twenty-first depending on how you count) Daytona spec'd out if you're counting by the special order number assignment.

Granted, it is the lowest VIN on the first major day of production, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was the first car that rolled down the Hamtramck assembly line OR the first car converted by Creative Industries.  It's also a car 69500's (Danny's) family owned for a number of years.  Nice car, but the selling dealer is trying to make a much bigger deal out of this car's particular VIN number.  The car sold on eBay not too long ago for +/- $100k, although I don't know if the Neosho dealer was the one who purchased the car from that auction.  If they later paid a huge premium under that whole "first" VIN pretense, they'll be hard pressed to ever recoup their investment.

That and for the simple fact that the car is a factory B5 blue, with blue interior car would put a hinderance on me buying it. I still wish I could have picked this car up about 2 years ago for $70K at the time. It used to be my dad's old car.

355101 would be the last 6 digits of the VIN. Lowest VIN of the batch of cars, (technically speaking it is the 2nd lowest VIN on a Daytona that was produced). The car was at one time shipped over to Germany (very early in its life) returned to the USA in 1979. Purchased by my dad in 1980. Later sold by my dad in 1985-6.

OK, two "Wows !!!!!"

One for the car itself and the other for the price.... And to think I had a guilty conscience in asking $85K for my '68 as it is..... Naaaaaa
