hi all! i was going to be buying new rims and tires for my roadrunner.
i pretty much decided on 15's. i want to fill the wells up nice and tight, without any rub.
i was wondering what the best rim size (backspacing front and rear) and tire size combo front and rear would be for 68 roadrunners.
any pic would be cool!  ima big fan of the big and wide in the back. and skinny in the front.
thanks.

Try a search. That might be your best bet. I've seen 235 245's on 7's up front on Chargers. And 275 to 295/50's on 8 to 10's on the rear.

ive been doing some reserch, and some poeple are saying they use 15x8 in the front w/ 3.75 thu 4inch backspace with 245/60/15 tires. and in the back, 15x10 w/ 5 thu 5.5 bs w/ 295/50/15.
ive seen those sizes fit a charger the same year. but does anyone know if they will fit a 68 roadrunner?
if so does anyone know what would be a the recommended backspace for the front and back?
thanks all! :patriot:

The wheelwells on the Road Runner and Charger (all the 68-70 B-bodies for that matter) are pretty similar if not the same, so you SHOULD be okay.  Is there a good tire shop near that does a lot of custom work that could help you?

"What's the best wheel & tire size for my car?"

Ask 25 people this question and you'll probably get at least 15 different answers.

The best way to go about this is usually to find an example of some setup that you like and ask the owner what it is.  Or just post the pic if you don't know the car's owner, and we can probably guess it down to within a small range just by looking.

It will also depend on what YOU like. VegasMike's 68' Charger has 15 x 10's on the back with only a 3.5 back space. He's running a wide but I think short tire on it. His car looks bad to the bone with this set up. I on the other hand would prefer the back spacing be a little more. Then again I think he can get more width to the inside by about 2 inches.

Look around on the site and see what looks good to you. Then just ask the owner what they have on their car.
