there's a 68 charger in the recreaction on the show 'seconds from disaster' in the episode about the crash on the potomec. not sure if there was a real one on the bridge that fateful day, but if it did get hit, it was pancaked.  :eek2: You can see it from the side and rear.

I recall a recreation of a disaster involving a bridge many years ago. The seen starts off with traffic stopped and a closeup view of 68 taillights. I think its been talked about before in another thread.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

I remember seeing that too. It was a plane taking off from somwhere, and lost a bunch of trust, and hit a bridge before ending up in the water. It was a red 68 .
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

That would be January 13th 1982.  Air Florida from Washington National(I believe it's called Reagan now) en route back to Florida.  It crashed into the 14th street bridge right after takeoff cause the pilots were idiots IMO. It was very poor ICY conditions and snow had closed the runway, it reopened and the plane was de-iced but they were delayed forever on the runway end and didn't even turn on the plane de-ice or attempt to go back and chemically dissolve the ice.
Anyways, 70+ were killed on impact and a few motorists died as well.  My Father was on TDY(Air Force) at the time and could see the commotion from his hotel room a ways away.

The bridge is now named the Arland Williams Jr. Memorial Bridge due to his selfless act of heroics that also cost him his life.   He actually survived the crash but drowned saving other peoples lives.

I dont' recall my father saying if he saw a 68 Charger or not though....(bad joke, i know)

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?
