Rocker shaft studs too short or hold downs are too thick.

I purchased a Crane Gold Rocker Shaft set and I am using the Hughes Engines rocker shaft hold downs on some Stealth heads.  I have noticed that the nuts for the rocker shaft studs will only thread on about half way. I have noticed that the Hughes hold downs are very thick and take up much of the stud length so that the nut only goes on just a little.

I will need some longer rocker shaft studs (at least 1/4 inch) or will need to get thinner hold downs.

Anybody know who might carry some longer studs? I have clearanced my Hughes hold downs so I cant send them back.

You might check with a Fastenal store, if you have one in your area.
