...any way to know if this serial number is in fact from a Charger? I was told it was, and that's all I know about its history. It decodes to a build date of late June '68. What other 4-speed cars were assembled at that plant? Any good historical texts about the plant? Thanks.   :2thumbs:

No. There is no way to know what it came from by a partial VIN.

Car 2783XX has a SPD of 705
Car 2804XX has a SPD of 712

Coronets, Satellites and Chargers were assembled at STL

I have an article somewhere I could e-mail if you're interested.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.
