A bunch of us joined the Fraternity Order of Eagles.  Mostly so we could drink on Sundays.  No alcohol sold on Sundays back then in Kansas, so we'd go down there and drink & play cards with the old timers.

To tell you the truth, they just closed our local lodge. Not enough members to keep it going. All the old timers are no longer around. It is really sad that the tradition is now gone where I live. It is really sad to see all the folks from that generation passing away.
My friend and his grandpa were really into keeping the lodge going.

I am also a Brother MM.  It's always good to meet others.  74Charger, you'll meet many remarkable, honorable folks in the Lodge.  Never take it for granted because sadly all of our 'old dogs' are dying off.  The Lodge I attend will be losing alot of members over the next 5-10 years.  I hate to see it happen but I sure am glad I went through when I did so I could learn from all of them.  You'll never regret it.

Our lodge is the fastest growing in the area, and has just acheived its excellence rating.
I am already talking to a lot of the old timers, and find them very interesting.

I've already found too many ways to waste my time to be able to justify joining a "men's club" or whatever you want to call it. Anyway, there's probably too much sitting around drinking, smoking, farting and bragging for my tastes.

I'm a Pi Kappa Phi and that was pretty much the only fraternal organization I ever joined.  I found that hanging out with a group of guys pretty much reduced your chances of getting pu--y to NIL.

I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.
