Welcome to the site and don't worry, you don't need to make any apologies for that car.  It looks like it's in good hands.

Hopefully it's some inspiration for yours. Mine started as a 318/727,8 3/4 car with disc brakes. Now has a stock 1972 400 ,750 Holley , 3:23 sure-grip axle, rear sway bar, buckets, console w/ slap-stick, 2 1/4 exhaust w/ Flowmasters

Here's the interior. I added a Gunslinger, pistol grip since the pic was taken. I kept breaking the T-handles.

Here's mine where we found it behind a guys garage.  O.k., test time, who can spot the obvious thing wrong? besides the aluminum wheels and Pontiac bucket seats.

ACUDANUT

bryansgarage

Nope ,they painted it gloss black after the vinal came off. I found the vinal under the roof trim.

ACUDANUT

Okay, so it currently DOES NOT have a vinyl top on it.  See....I was right.  :icon_smile_big:
Anyway, welcome home to the greatest Mopar site ever.

Look close and you can see they had the grills in backwards. The white nylon nuts hold the Dodge chrome and it goes on the drivers side.

i would have never spotted the grills being installed upside down. was the guy drunk when he did that? my '72 also started out as a 318 car. i pulled that motor and put in a 440. when i get the body work done, i am gonna have it rebuilt and hopefully i can find a reasonable 4-speed tranny or just splurge for a new 5-speed.
