driving yesterday found me a 72 charger SE, 4 speed, 400, hideaways, A/C

Anyone know how many of these were made in 72? Owner is a farmer and was letting his girls learn to drive when i saw it Went up to him and he said he has had it 22 years. the girls were definately hopin and pokin with it. Where do I look on the block to see if the engine is original? last 4 of the stamp has to match last 4 of Vin correct? Going back this afternoon to get a price from him.

yea, but until i see fender tag and documentation then ill believe it, what the owners say sometimes is

yeah definitelly rare being 4 speed and A/C. Being SE Hideaways is part of 71/72 SE package

Rare enough and cool.  There is a one-owner 400 4 speed 72 charger around here that also has air grabber hood.  NICE old car.

72chargerSE has a restored car with that same combo.

Only 126 were made. It was an oddball to have a 400 Magnum 4-speed SE car.  A/C was not available with a 440/4-speed for 1972. If you wanted a Charger SE to bang gears, go fast, (and have cold air) - then you had to order the 400 Magnum.

A/C is not factored into the production numbers so fewer may have existed. Hemidoug and Nacho are right, any 4-speed car with a/c will always be rare.

My 1972 Ralley Charger with a 340-4speed has Air Cond. PLUS, a ton of other options.   Gosh,  Im glad I bought that car..................its just tooooo cool.
