It's a long shot, but does anybody know anything about this 318?  Thanks.

thats a big ass supercharger i bet. I wish my wee18 did that!

This particular 318 in the video, NO.

That said,
it sounds just like a typical "race built" SB Mopar.

Nothing wrong with the wee-18's, they are just real small for a race effort, NOT that they can't deliver decent power with rpm's. and sufficient breathing capacity.

The old saying "no replacement for displacement" is true.
What it means is this; your burning BTU's ( British Thermal Units ) of heat energy in gasoline in your engine to try and recover 22-24% actual heat energy transferred to power to turn the rear wheels.
The rest of the BTU heat energy is lost, as "heat" out through the exhaust, radiator, Convertor, parasitic friction, etc., etc.

If your rotary compressor is small at only 318 cubic inchs, it means that for comparison to a 634 cubic inch compressor, you'll have to spin it twice as fast to burn & recover the same amount of BTU's or "Heat Energy".

NOTHING wrong with a 318 !
Just "small" !
and a little under square.
Read "HIGH MAINTENANCE" to do it !

We used to run a zapper 302 cheb back in the early 80's @ 11,000 rpm to go 10.0's in a 3400 lb '69 Camaro with a Nash 5 gear.
Teardown every week for maintenance ! Check Rod Stretch, Spring Pressures, etc., etc.
6.30:1 gears sea level, 6.50:1 for elevation on a ford 9 inch.
Was called "KID Dynamite" outa Victoria at one time.
P.I.T.A. !

Nowadays, it's far more cost effective to run a bigger engine at lower rpm's(same BTU's Burnt), and not have the higher rpm maintenance and "hard on" for parts proliferation.
Run a 540 @ 7000 rpm, shift, easy on parts and the wallet ! Lasts a full season easy.

Anyways, cudo's to the "brave soul" woopin on the mouse if it is a wee-18. He must be wealthy !

Only wimps wear Bowties !

judging by the link that could it be a brazilian 318. As far I knwo is/was the only engine available.
