Ever been chased while following up on a lead?

Today I follow up this lead about a '69 road runner in this guys "personal Junk yard". I find the place and the guys wife is there. She gives me his phone number and said it would be fine I took a look around. Hes got tons of old 30's-60's cars/parts back there. He had this huge stack of fenders/hoods/doors of off 30's-50's cars.

I'm at the corner of his lot near this old delivery truck and hear dogs barking. It sounds muffled or far off in the distance so I don't pay much attention. Then all of a sudden these things are right behind me (2 of them). I'm talking like 15-20 ft. I haul ass towards this rusted out 40's Plymouth 4 door and jump up the hood and onto the roof. Luckily the dogs didn't come up after me.

One dog went back to the delivery truck (they climbed through the floor into the truck) and the mom (you could tell she had pups, her nipples were all stretched out) just stayed there barking at me. She would move back a little then sit and bark. When she had moved back a bit I decided to take a picture cause I had my camera with me. She finally goes back under the truck and I slowly slide down an haul ass out of there.

I did end up finding the car I was looking for. It ended up being a '69 belvedere not a road runner. It was crammed behind some stuff still on a trailer. I couldn't even get to it or take a picture of it. I might buy it. I'm meeting with the owner on Wednesday to get a better look at it. Its a slant 6/auto car. No other build able 60's mopars. There was a duster and a 1st gen Dart; both were pretty far gone.

:pity:

I was in a yard in CA, alone in the middle of this huge place and out of nowhere comes these two mangy and muscular dogs, growling, fighting and chasing each other out from between two cars.  They stopped dead in their tracks and started staring me down.  It was 104 degrees and I had sweat so much while touring this yard I couldn't even piss my pants even though I wanted to.  I froze and then took a few steps back and made my way on top of a car.  The one took a nip at the back end of the other and the chase was on again.  I never saw them again that day.

a 69 belvedere is just as nice as having a road runner.  Like Mike D said in your other thread, find a nice condition B-body and play around with it while you hold out for your someday car.  Wait, your car you just sold was a '69 plymouth sattellite, and now you've basically found another one..  :icon_smile_big:  i think its fate, you're meant to own one.

Take that line out of context & it's good for a chuckle.

I won't be buying the car, but I do have some other good leads right now. I found a pretty cool '64 Lemans (with GTO hood), convertible with a 4 speed. That would be fun if its for sale. I've also got two other mopar leads. Haven't heard back from the guy though... I'm trying to pick something up before school starts in 2 weeks.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
