buddy of mine is going broke and wants me to buy his 73 challenger. basically a very clean, no rust all original 340 /4sp...needs a paintjob and a dash. he wants around 20K. black with a black interior, hardtop. pistol grip shifter. I am unfamiliar with the details on Challengers, it may be a Rally(?) model?

opinions? nice guy, car is in san francisco, has been garaged for a few years.

I kinda like the car except for the front bumper. can a different year front bumper/grill fit on a 73 model?

Being a 340 car, it probably is a Rallye- it should have code A57 on the fender tag to verify for sure. It's probably worth it- not many 340 4-speeds were built in 73. A 72 bumper should fit (no big bumper guards) but you're probably stuck with the grille as is. And of course, we need the obligatory....

I have known that there are available kits for 70/71 front look on 72/74 Challies
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

I agree with the bumper change.  I will say $20,000 seems on the high side IMO.  I have been watching e-bodies.  Again just my  :Twocents:
