ive got to holes in the firewall one is oval about 2x4 inches the other is more like an inch round i assume one is for sppedometer cable what is the other hole used for ? these holes are on the drivers side above the brakepedal

The70RT

The square on is for your wiring bulkhead. On my 70 anyway. It isn't directly above the pedal though.

this is a 69 thought they would all be the same im  sure one is for speedometer but no idea what other one is for

If you had AC then that oval might have been where your hoses came into the firewall.  Mine has some type of insulation in that oval and a pipe fitting coming out.  I was going to get around to cleaning that up.

are you sure its about 2 x 4 inches
? this is the proper location for where the clutch pedal linkage would pass thru, but hole sounds large...dont have my second gen to double check :Twocents:

There is an oval hole but not that large, you need to show us a pic.

As noted, a picture is worth a 1000 words.  If you don't have one of your own, I'll guarantee you there is one on this site of what you are looking for.

Back N Black

Here is a couple of pics of a non-A/C firewall and a A/C firewall.

Dodge Don

The smaller one you are referring to may be the emergency brake cable hole....cable goes through a grommet, the other may be the clutch linkage hole (which is capped with a plug on an automatic)
