Hotwiring/ ignition lock replacement questions

Alright, well to skip past all of the bullshit I lost the keys to my '73 Dart. I guess by the time I had enough money to buy it a battery I forgot where they were. But I don't want to turn this into a rant. Right now it's at a storage unit across town.

I feel a lot better working on things at my shop, so the first thing is that I would like to get it there. Keep in mind the ignition switch is in the off position. Is there any way to hotwire the car and be able to drive it without it just killing itself due to the ignition switch position? Just so that I could drive it down to the shop. . .

Next, I've already ordered a new ignition switch with keys. However, I'm wondering what all is involved in replacing it? I figure some 70 and third gen owners could chime in, since the damn thing is on the column. Obviously I will have to remove the steering wheel, but other than that I don't know. Could someone enlighten me?

Steering wheel, turning signal switch, bearing snap ring, bearing, next collar, locking wheel, locking lever plate and will have acces to the cilinder release button.

Don't need the ign switch, just the cilinder.

P.S. I DON't REMEMBER if you can get access to remove the lever locking plate without remove the locking wheel... probably yes, some tricky but maybe possible

allmost forgett... yes you can hotwire the car, but if you don't have the key how will you drive the car with steering wheel locked ?

I guess thiefs are able LOL, but dunno how they do.

feed the ballast from batt and jump the starter relay.

won't have turning lights though because is feeded by ACC source, unless you feed the acc side of fuse box too, jumping the Fusebox

I feel really stupid now . . .

Finally my mind thought of the simple answer; pop out a door lock, and take it to the locksmith so he can make a key.  :P

Nacho, thank you for your help.
