My engine sayes c 383 on the block, correct me if I'm wrong  but dont the c  stand for 1966? Also the only availible  383 in 1966 was the 325 hp.Is that correct? I know in 1967 they had two 383's availible.

A 'C' should be a 1967 block.

Are you 100% sure?   Is their a way to tell on the block if its a original  hp motor? From what i read 1966 had a 325 hp 383 only and 1967 has a 290hp 2 bbl and the 325 4bbl.

"C" is the year code for '67. A block from a HP engine will be stamped HP on the data pad.

The 383-2 and 383-4 were available in both '66 and '67 depending on the make/body.
