If there is already a thread pertaining to this, I apologize as I can not find it.  I'm interested in hearing from people who are running this cam ( Hughes Whiplash cam) specifically in a 400.  from stock to mild build.  I have been researching cams for over a year now and believe this might be the one as I don't feel like swapping heads.  I would like to hear about the pros and cons.  My current set up is a 400, bored 30, eddelbrock performer rpm, holley 750 DP, long tube headers, 727 with shift kit, 3:55's and a suregrip.

What part number pistons did you use, what part number head gasket did you use. Very important but the bottom line is it is most likely an 8:1 engine.  Cam choice is limited if you dont want a dog down low. What pn cam are you debating?

Whiplash cam seem to be made to low compression stockish engines per what I have read and specs says.
