Many of the experts that rate the top ten most beautiful cars of all time will include the 2nd gen Charger.  This is in a group
that includes the Mercedes 500K, Deusenburg SJ & Cisitalia!

Didn't Hot Rod mag do in January "The 100 most influential auto's ever"  and the GL ( 69 Charger as I see it ) was # 1. :2thumbs:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

By all statistics, muscle car prices have dropped around 30% since the beginning of the year, and they are going to go lower. There are still good deals to be found. A local guy just sold a restored matching numbers 69 RT/SE 440 for $19k, and the only thing wrong with it was that the paint had some dust in it. I didnt have the money or I would have bought it. Didnt last long anyways. Losing your job really sucks.

The prices on the ultra rare stuff has come down but the regular stuff is holding or growing. We have been tracking 70 Charger prices for about 3 years and I can state absolutely that the average prices for base, 500 and R/T models are all going up every month and have been since we started tracking it.

At the end of the day, you know what they say.

Its only worth what someone is willing to pay.

People can advertise the car for 50 000 but if 25 000 is all they get offered, guess what, its only worth 25.

Bada bing!  I've said it before and I'll say it again.  I truly understand why.  There are some things that just stand out amongst the others as the best.  There is no question these cars are truly unique and timeless in power and style.  I just increased my insurance coverage to 45,000.00 this week.  Earlier threads say the same, they ain't making em any more and the hobby keeps growing.  These cars have been collected and considered special for over 40 years straight, I hope they keep going up in value like any good investment, and if not I really don't care becuause it's about the love for the car more than the dollar amount.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I wonder  if/when the 70 r/t will take off in value compared to the 68,69 r/t's? About 1/2 as many 70 r/t's compared to the r/t's in 68/69 right?
One would think the 70 being the last year of the 2nd generation, high impact colors and  lower production #'s would end up the most valuable :shruggy:

I think it all comes down to what a person is attracted to and nothing more.  Me?  68 is beautiful but I don't care for the tail lights and round side markers and split stripe.  I love EVERY SINGLE FRIGGIN THING!!!!  about the 69.  The split grille, sinister tail lamps, wide stripe etc...   70?  Beautiful car as the 68, but I like the 69 items better than those other years.  I don't care that it's the last or first year.  The one big thing the 70 has over the 69 is the worlds coolest 4 speed shifter, that I wish the 69 had.  Hey you can't have it all.  "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"  Something like that, and I behold a 69.  :icon_smile_big: :yesnod: :drool5:

I guess they had to throw gimmicks in there to get people to buy them with that awful front bumper. ;)

I was just making a point. I happen to like the '68 (obviously) but the '69 is still more popular overall. There's more '70 Hemicudas than nearly any other Hemi car yet they are more desirable/popular than everything else. Slant 6 cars are rare but nobody is engaging in bidding wars to obtain them. It's all a matter of personal taste.

I love all 3 second gens. 70's may not be as 'desirable' as a 68/69, but I'll tell you, a 70 in triple black with a red stripe is just plain right, period. A 68 or 69 in the same colour combo just doesn't cut it, sorry guys. Hey, they are all cool, just couldn't understand why the 69's are going up(?) when 68's and 70's haven't, and everything else seems to be coming down.

Q.  Wanna know what's the best thing to happen to the values of 1970 Chargers (at least the 318 & 383 VINs) in years?

A.  Decent affordable reproduction 1968/69 front sheetmetal & tail panels.  It'll render 1970 Chargers much more practical raw material for conversions to the earlier years appearances.

(Sorry 1970 Charger lovers, but it's true.)
