Guy has it advertised for...$600. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
I have seen guys buy parts cars for more than that!
How can I convince my dad to take me to look at this thing? :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:
He says it is too rough and not worth a 2-hour drive.

Delivery is available for $100.00 up to 60 miles from Downtown in any direction. The car is currently on a lowboy Trailer.

Pay the $100 for delivery-problem solved

My dad wont drive the 2 hours to GO SEE the car. :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

While wishing misfortune on someone is a crappy thing to do, how is buying a car from someone who is down on their luck and actively trying to sell the car "taking advantage"? The way he worded the last part sounded bad. He should have said he doesn't think anyone else is going to buy the car and that it might be cheaper in the next few months so he's going to hold out and buy it at the cheaper price. I don't see anything wrong with that.

And Wing, I agree, save your money man. that '74 is scary looking.

Looks like you will settle for most anything. If thats the case, don't worry I am sure you will get one soon wingy.

I would take just about anything from a 1962 Dart to a 1980 Volare. :icon_smile_big:
A, B, C, E, or F Body. Trucks too.

B-Body: '70 Charger or '70 Coronet.
A-Body: '73 and '74 Dusters
C-Body: '65 Fury
E-Body: '70 Challenger
F-Body: '76-'80 Volare or Aspen
I probably wont have a B-Body until I am out of college. :brickwall:

SORRY ABOUT THE THREAD HIJACK!!!

Wish I could find a '70 Charger or '70 Coronet.
'73 and '74 Dusters are third.

You're dad is right, 2 hours is too far to go check out that particular money pit.  Be patient Wingy, you can't even drive it for a couple of more years.  The right WILL turn up.

Im not going to feel bad for getting a deal because of the sucky economy or simply because the person needs it, but im not going to hope he does worse so i can get it for cheaper. I would never wish that on anyone, someone loosing there dream car is sad sight.

Dude, you just did! Maybe you should be in his place and he could in your place. Like they say, when the shoe is on the other foot stuff is all different.

So because i found a deal im "wishing" for someone to be doing bad? So now i have to feel bad about getting a deal? Im sorry but lets say someone advertised a charger in fair condition far below the value and i wanted a charger why do i need to feel bad about buying his/hers? Do i feel bad for the person, of course..but i wont say "man i sure should offer this guy alot more then hes asking because he needs the money" ...and no matter what if i dont buy i someone else will.

Ive had a car i liked and had to get rid of it. Had a T-Bird, 390 CID...poor poor shape but i got it for 500$. Started restoring it only to realize i was in over my head. Was 16 or so..had no money, no job...granted thanks to parents i had a house to live in, food, and went to school so i wasnt doing bad..but i had to get rid of a car i loved. Parted it out...guy picked up a shell with the engine in it so he can use it in his mustang, had  a 428 sitting on a pallet i was going to put in..sold that also.

So i know what its like to loose a car, but i got the charger soon after and am quite happy now.

Someone loosing a car they worked so hard on, or was in the family for years is a very sad site weather it be economy related or not. If they never planned on getting rid of it then you really never want to see them let it go. But i wont feel bad about buying such a car or part.

BTW about the bulge hood...badly rotted in 3 places. So im going to see how low he will go. Also probably going to pick up a set of rallye tail lights and grilles from him though, they look mint.

That isn't right. That's what we all are talking about right now. Who ever does this kind of stuff should be a shame of them self's.. and shouldn't feel right if they get the car.

Hey snooter, if it is such a good deal now, then you better buy it now or someone else is going to snag it. Then all your hopes of his ongoing misfortune won't do you any good. The last point is what rubs people the wrong way.
I used to own a mopar because it was different, but now I know better.

No big deal, I guess, but when your life is collapsing around you, well...nerer mind

Nice Edit!

For the all the struggling the folks out there, I'm hoping the economy picks up tomorrow. Don't give up hope! God Bless!

There's a lot of people like snoter around. I know of several people that love a bad economy so they can take advantage of people who are down on their luck. The funny thing is they are politicians who claim they are doing everything in their power to help people in need.

Wingy, that's a money pit. there's a guy up here with a 72 Charger that needs a paint job and some interior work. Has a brand new 440 6/pac in it. asking 5k. I'm waiting for him the lose everything so I can offer him 2k. :whistling:
72 Charger- Base Model
68 Charger-R/T Clone
69 Charger Daytona clone
79 Lil Red Express - future money pit
88 Ramcharger 4x4- current money pit
55 Dodge Royal 2 door - wife's money pit

PS: deals above are legit..but i hate kids not having CHRISTmas..so i have donated quite a few toys to toys for tots this year..god speed and hope 09 is a great year for all

If this is the same Snooter that I have seen from this and other forums, he is full of crap. I would not believe anything he has to say...

I agree that we should not wish bad fortune on anyone.

It's unfortunate that people are selling their cars at a time when they are in a pinch, but at least they have something to sell to hold them over. That was a selling point I used on the wife, hey if we ever get into a pinch or I lose my job, we can sell the car and it will hold us over for a few months.

i think the big deals we may hear about are for projects which require you to sell dirt cheap to move it...not likely on a complete running car. If I see a great deal, I'll jump on it if I can....might need to sell it in a few months to hold me over since we may all go down this time!

I believe you're correct.  Comparing the two, it's definitely Mr. Reeves style or lack thereof...
