I have reached my goal in life(Charger owning that is) and bought a 1969 RT/SE Charger, 440-4speed Trackpak(sure a Hemi-4speed Trackpac would be the highest but those arent found everyday for normal money) thanks Tom for letting me buy this Charger, Original Y2=Yellow.
Anyway the car is primer and have some rustissues but is fully driveable as is, but i will do a total resto anyway. So now now i try to deside if i should forfill my dream and do a Trippel Black one or stay with the original Yellow, so how rare is the this car in Yellow?

Here you have the fenderplate to enjoy :icon_smile_big:
You will get more pictures soon.... :yesnod:

Color makes very little difference in resale value unless it is an unpopular color. Its your car, and yours to enjoy. paint it whatever color you want.

Here is some pictures....

It have been a GL(and some previus owner claimed it hade been it have been in Dukes show, but that sounds like bull to me) and the dixiehorns have gonna away fast(now has stock ones). Anyway the Charger have been on Fox tv in a documentry about the 1969 Dodge Charger way back, waiting for the Dvd on that show to get in my mail.
Tom who started to save the car(it had been sitting in a garage for 20 years) really did a good job with it. The 440 Magnum looked  :drool5:
And the 3 owner before me stole the Dana to his f... race car that never was complited but he refuse to sell it and being a real ass about it, so it just lays there in his garage :flame:

Why stop with your goal.. Why don't you turn it into your dream.. Life's too bloody short not to do what you want to do.. Of course, there are good points and bad points to most decisions and you wouldn't want to effect the value of the car if there ever came a time to sell for a family emergency or whatever... It's not like you're painting it into some psychedelic metal flake job all jacked up with side-pipes and a Starsky-n-Hutch stripe...

If I were you, I would go your heart-desired 3x black and have fun.....................................   But, you better have a towel handy to lay on that front seat when you sit down in the Summer months..........

Nice score! Are you going to put the A/C back in it? I`m building a quadruple black 68 R/T clone. Black vinyl, black exterior, black interior, and a matte black tail stripe. I`m almost finished restoring my font grill assembly and have a little over a hundred hours in that little project. I say build it the way you want it. We are all just passing through life once and it is too short to to be able to at least live on of your dreams. My dream would be to have a 68. a 69, and a 70 all done in the quadruple black paint scheme.

Yellow is nice, but triple black is just plain mean.

Interesting question there, charge-it...  At first, I was wondering what caused you to ask that, since there was not an A/C compressor shown in any of the pictures, H51 is not shown on the fender tag and Air Conditioning was not available from the factory on any 4-speed R/Ts.  Then, I saw the firewall pictures with all the holes where the A/C tubes would normally be.   :scratchchin:

ChargerSG - have you checked out the body serial numbers (on the radiator yoke and under the trunk weatherstripping), or checked to see if the firewall and/or cowl has been replaced for some reason?  It is not absolutely impossible that the factory could have made such a gaffe, but it's HIGHLY unlikely.

Something to check out anyway.

Nice car though, 4-speed cars are my fav... :2thumbs:

Just 6T9 CHGR

Noticed that as well...... :scratchchin:

Please reregister the car as the new owner...... (Tom already registered in his name)

that car is actually a dark BLUE...   :slap:

G-man

I would say do it tripple black. Then you finally got what you wanted. If you ever have to sell, you can respray it original Yellow for the sake of the value of the car (if it even hurts the value which I doubt) nad if you dont have to sell it, you got what you always wanted.

Congrats on the new ride. It appears to be in very nice condition.  Lucky you, I'm jealous   :yesnod:

Very cool ChargerSG,don't know what to tell as far as what color to do it,I for the most part like leaving them the orig colors , it would have to be such a terrible color to get me to change .The orig Y2 is,IMO,a very nice color but 3x9 is my all time favorite also.I think in your case I would satisfy my dream and go with the triple black. :2thumbs:

1969chargerrtse

Very nice, my RTSE is Y2 yellow originally also.  I was told Y2 yellow is a rare color.  I'm all confused between the white car and the GL pictures. But there are 2 rare options there, the pass mirror and Power front disk brakes.  Is the wood trim missing on the dash?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

On the A/c thing, thanks for pointing that out(was to blinded on the 4speed RT/SE Trackpac to notice) i have to check that up. This car was badly modified under its GL years, but i coudent stand if it where a rebody.
Right now its standing in the port(not unloaded yet) and then the customs gonna have their fun before i can get her out, so i cant go out and check yet... :-\

And yes it looks like Trippelblack :D
