Soon there will be no need to look both ways anymore...
As the pedestrian safety standards come into effect hood and bumper mounted airbags will as usual begin on the Mercs and such and work their way down the automotive food chain...  :shruggy:

i guess this is concidered "progress"... maybe hood scoops will house airbags in the future...
I'll try and find the pedestrian safety regs...

found this other solution...
these regs are originating in Brussels BTW:

Yeah another great idea from the Nanny mentality folks.  Yeah, it wills sure save lives, that is, except for yours, when you break your neck trying to fix your headlight and the thing goes off on you.
Do I have the last, operational Popcar Spacemobile?

Years ago I remember seeing signs installed that stated the pedestrian has the right of way no matter what. I understand the concept, but I see complete idiots walk out into traffic without looking. It's even worse in places like NYC where they step off the curb with the attitude that they are above the person behind the wheel & don't care if they get run down because they'll sue. I had driven a truck in NYC for awhile & saw it all the time.

Once, I was driving this box truck with no muffler. I was going through an intersection when the green light was in my favor, when I see a pack of morons step off the curb & walk in front of me. I floored it, downshifted the truck, & it made a ton of noise, but didn't go much faster. All these morons in the crosswalk suddenly had wide eyes when they spun their heads in my direction to see a truck coming. They all ran to the other side of the street in panic & some of them yelled & cursed at me flipping me the middle finger.   :smilielol:

I'm not interested in exterior air bags, f**k 'em, I have insurance for that.   :D

Seattle has the same problem, don't look just walk. People up here get run over all the time, simply amazes me, WTF???  Try that Sh!t in D.C. and some Ambassadors car will flatten your a$$ and they then get immunity.

The way I see it is The Laws of Physics override the Laws of Man.    I'll look before I step out in front of a bus.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
