Hey '71 people check out this grill insert. I got this from a pal, and  automatically thought it had a part knocked out of it but after looking closer it seems like it was a void in the factory mold. The part looks original and all the sides are smooth. Only other explaination is it was melted but there is no corrsponding distortion...any ideas ???

I have and have seen many like that. It's on the upper side and you don't see it when it is mounted. Must have been a flaw in the mold or something.

hmm That's queer huh?

Thanks super blu

Me too! It must have been pretty common to have a void in the casting with that set up!
