Alright,Good job! When's the first car meet,I'm up and running also, runs great. Firefighters suggestions worked awesome, like a bear. New motor and Painted grill

Khyron

well, catastrophic failure this evening proves that bad things happen in 3's. On a test run my motor seized without any warning... Oil pressure was there, everything was working and tested 4 times at least, but non the less. Major engine lockup and due to family issues I don't have the green to fix it. Looks like I'll be out this year.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that dude.   :icon_smile_blackeye:  Hope you can get'er up and running again somehow.  Good luck

Damn, that sucks! Maybe you just spun a bearing & it won't need a total rebuild? Regardless, that's some crappy news. :'(
Maybe put the 360 back in until you can afford to fix the 440? :2thumbs:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Man, whats with all these engine failures lately? :rotz:   Really sorry to hear it man.....

You should drop a 225 in for the time being.  22 mpg :yesnod:

ouch! was the cap loose?

nope... my fault...

Take it as a lesson, never take shortcuts and when you get a motor, I don't care how lett it gauges and tests, always machine and replace all bearings  :-\

In all my days, I can't say I've seen that one happen! :o WTH! :shruggy:
The only thing I can think of is that the little tangs on the bearing halves weren't lined up with the corresponding cuts in the rod end & cap. That's just plain funky.

On the upside, I bet it won't be a super expensive fix. Polish the crank, double check the rod end, get a new bearing set & you're good to go. Probably $300 tops.

I've never seen it happen as well, ohh well, first time for everything ;)

And that is the plan, but while it's out, she may get a bit more.
