Which model/year pistol grip shifter is this?

694spdRT

Can't really tell from the picture. If I had to guess it looks to be a '70 non console shifter. The 71-71 pistol grip is very short unless you have a bench seat car.

its the 68 s/s barracuda from highwaymen, the pistol grip shifter didnt come out till 1970 so it had to have been from another car and after lookin at them it looks like itm ight be a 70 b or 71 b/e non-console shifter

Still my 68 Road Runner came stock, from factory. With 4sp. pistol grip in a bench seat car. 383 motor,Had a tall crooked shifter arm
That was how they Promoted. THE NEW ROAD RUNNER FOR 1968. :coolgleamA:

It may have had the big crooked arm but the "pistol grip" handle wasn't even out for another two years so it didn't have that part stock in your 68.

Although you see some cars earlier than 1970 with a pistol grip shifter in them, they are not original to those year cars. The pistol grip came out in 1970. The shifter in the pic to me looks like a 70 "tall" pistol grip shifter.  I've seen the 1970 shifter installed in 64 Fury's, and I've seen it installed in 68-69 Road Runner and Super Bee's. I currently own a '68 Runner with original 4 spd and its the round shifter. I owned a '70 Bee with 4 speed and it had the pistol grip. It was also an original drive train car. Many people like the shifter a lot better than the shorter version in the '71 ( i have all numbers matching 440-6  with short pistol grip 71 RR as well as a 72 Rallye Charger with short pitol grip) or later models. The tall pistol grip shifter has been available through Chrysler for about 3 years now,  as well as many other suppliers. Personally, my favorite of all the shifters is the 70 tall pistol grip.
