I doubt it. Ray will stick with Dodge.

This rumor hit months ago as soon as Jr. bailed from DEI. Ray just wants a little more money to help cover some of his cost.

I really don't watch racing but................. why the hell is Dodge not allowed to use the HEMI?  I heard this and thought it was BS when I was told that NASCAR didn't want Dodge to have that edge?  Shit, it's not something super exotic.  They make them everyday!

Ghoste

Speaking of engines, is it not also true that when NASCAR decided to let Toyota in, all of the domestic mfgs had to turn over examples of their engine program to Toyota so they could get up to speed more quickly?  (no pun intended)

YEP they did, and were given ENTIRE CARS that have been confiscated by Nascar including Hendrick, Roush and Joe Gibbs cars. Just to help them "get up to speed".

ANd by the way, when Dodge was getting ready to return in 01, NO they didn't get the same courtesy.

And why would you know what a gay porn star's name sounds like?  :stirthepot:

Bobs69

What total BS.  So Toyota gets the directions given to them.  So not only do they not have to spend any of their own money for research and development...........ah I guess that's all I got on that thought.  Anyhow all they had to do was improve upon existing designs.  Isn't that how everything Japanese (or whatever) has been made?  (So I was told once).

But why!!!!!!!! Can't dodge run the HEMI?

Ghoste

They can't run the Hemi cuz NASCAR says so and that's all there is to it in the world of "stock" car racing.

Bobs69

Nascar sounds like total bs.  Too many rules.  And yes I know that Nascar says so and that's it.  But what's the reasoning?

Ghoste

The official version is so that they can have parity across the board in every race with the results always coming down to a 3 wide win by a nose finish.  However, that still doesn't explain 40 years of treating Chrysler products like unwanted hobos.

Bobs69

So it's true what I heard, the HEMI would clean house, so chevy (opps nascar whoever) changed the rules.  And yeah, I'd like to see chrysler be able to use it, I get tired of hearing people putting down mopars.  We'd get respect if they could use their  H bomb!
