Well, this is long after the fact, but reading all your replies, I can tell you are all jealous of the $450,000 John got for 'HIS' car. As his former mechanic, I can tell you that those 725 horses under the hood were all there. I accompanied John at the Silver State Challenge where he ran the car. This was no 'wanna-be' car. You guys might cry and bitch but at least I got to drive it on many occasions.

He thought more of the money than the car....he sold it didn't he? I'm sure it was a far cry from what he wanted for it even though it wasn't worth the 450K.....but I guess some idiot did though. Maybe he won't have to sell t-shirts on eBay for a while :smilielol:

So you got a chance to drive the car, would you pay $450,000 for it?

Hemi-dude, your opinion of the cars stellar performance not withstanding -  in this price category, any cars performance should  be staggering. In fact, for $450K,  you could buy a small COLLECTION of ultra well built, super performing resto-mod Mopars that far exceed the build quality of BO's General. There are many professionally built Mopars out there with modern running gear, plush with "new car" amenities for driver comfort - - that also meet your 700+ horsepower figure and no flag on the roof.

I'm not trying to be a basher, but let's be honest. "Bo's General" is an older, (well enjoyed) example of a muscle car that was not very well-engineered by today's standards. A modern resto-mod (recently built by some of todays' best car builders) doesn't even come close to fetching that kind of money!  This is why $450,000 is extremely generous - even considering the ownership. John should thanking his lucky stars for that kind of Return On Investment ....and in "real life" I think he probably is. :Twocents: :Twocents:  By the way, speaking of real life..... who cares about the Charger - he can always buy another!!!

Is he selling his shorts, too?  How much do those go for?

Think it is kinda funny that there is a discussion if the CAR itself is worth 450 K or not! :scratchchin: :scratchchin:
Ofcause it is not!!! A high end build, with all the fancy modern stuff you can tastefully put on a charger, would maybe cost somewhere in the ballpark of 200-250 K from a well reputated builder?? J S is cashing in on the car because HE was the owner!!! The difference beween CAR value, and price, is the value the buyer putted on on the fact that it was J S ´s personal car.!!
Do i understand it??.....................NO!!!!
For the same reason that i don´t understand why somebody would pay maybe 20 times the CAR value, for the new Popes old VW Golf!!!!!
Did that famous stain on Monica Lewinsky´s dress add value to it, if you wanted to go out with it? Dont think so, but it got valuble for somebody!!!!!

I dont blame him for cashing in. I think most of us would have taked that money, if we were in the same position.

Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!
