Before  my black 69 was redone it sounded like a tank truck without baffles in the trunk. When I'd go around a corner or slam on the brakes,  I could hear the water slosh around in the trunk after a good heavy rain. Now I get a few drips, but the quarters aren't filled up anymore.

Yeah, it's just a product of the era in which they were built. 


According to the market research of the time, most new car buyers only kept their car for 3 years.  Five at the most. 

Stop and think about that for a second.  It means the factory originally thought a 1969 Charger only needed to operate in good condition until 1971-73.  There was virtually no factory concern about resale value in those days.
