Same thing happened at a car show I was at three weeks ago.   It was hosted by a Furd dealer and the dealers kid was getting keys to different Rustangs and pickups and doing burnouts in their lot.   There was a Dodge dealer next door and somebody saw what was going on and grabbed a new Magnum sedan and tried to do a burnout on the streeet in front of the Furd lot.   It was sad, sad, sad.   Everyone was laughing at his poor attempt and pointing at the car.   In all fairness,he probably had the traction control on but all the same, as a Dodge guy I was shamed.
I did regain some glory for real Chargers when I left though.

i sit harder to do with anti lock brakes?

I can do and have done better burn out than that in my 4 banger PT Cruiser.

A line lock also helps when doing stationairy burnouts in a RWD.

BigBlockSam

i thought maybe it would be hard to keep the car from rolling with anti lock front brakes.

Which engine is in the new Charger pictured in the video? ( I can't view it; something about wininet.dll and an Internet Explorer needs to quit message).

The new Chargers I've driven were plenty capable of spinning tires - as long as they didn't have the V6.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

That was a '6.  The Hemi would've launched that car into somebody's living room...

I would bet the farm that it's a hemi...

Must have been a 6 cyl.   Here is a Hemi.

All that guy did was let them spin a few seconds longer before taking his foot off the brake.   It didn't really do much more after the initial weak tire spinning.  I can make that much smoke with my neon...

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

How do you know?
It'll get those rear rotors good and hot and possibly warp them if you make a habit out of it.  A guy (slow t) I worked with toasted his brakes in his new truck.  :icon_smile_big:

If they got them to spin that much I don't see why they didn't take off.  Driver error I imagine.   Ghoste, you should have went over to the Dodge dealer and taught 'em how to do it, or at least picked him out a rig that would do it.  Maybe he didn't know how to spell Hemi when he grabbed that Magnum.  Ooops, that's right, you don't like anything new from Ma' Mopar. :P

The first of December I'll be down in Dallas, Texas.  My mom's a comptroller at a Dodge dealer, they've sold over 500 rigs in a month before, they're big.  They used to give me a dealer plate and I'd go thru the lot getting stock number's for test drives.   I don't know if they'll still let me beings I'm in a wheelchair now. :-\ I don't need hand controls, so I'll beg, plead and cry if I have to.  It worked one year, they let me take out a GTS Viper.  Of course they sent the sales manager, company policy, with me.   I'll take plenty of pix this time.  Problem is bringing them back with rubber in the wheelwells.  My mom's driving a new Hemi 300 so I'll thrash on it for sure. :icon_smile_big:

Now just when did I say I didn't like anything new from Ma Mopar?  What I have said all along is that I don't like the styling of the car they call Charger.  I could even accept them calling it that if it weren't for the endless barrage of people telling me I'm a traitor for not loving it.
FWIW, I do happen to have a new Mopar in the driveway and I like the styling of the wagon version very much.  I also like the Crossfire and Viper and the 300.  Just don't tell me I have to like the other thing because of the name that market research recommended DCX apply to their newest intermdediate family car.

I never said it wouldn't be bleach assisted...    :icon_smile_wink:    Besides that, I just got laid off, so I'm not about to wear out a set of tires prematurely.

Yeah, I guess I misunderstood their intent if you weren't trying to rile me.
