hey guys,im not much of a motor guy, need lots of help and advice in this department.but here is my question if someone has the time...i am looking to get built(or try),my fist engine.got to start some day right?got books on stock rebuilds, but im looking for something a little more than that, but not be a "money pile".i am going to run a tunnel ram with 390 or 450 carbs(i know the disadvantages of the high rpm's vs street cruizing)but i need to know what goes in the motor that makes it perform better with that on top.could someone make a list as if they where going to the store and buy it all, cam, rods, pistons, pumps, heads or stock heads w/upgrades,etc.,.i dont mind the $1000.00-$2000.00 range but the more i can use my stock parts the better.im looking to get in the 400-500 hp range,"not" a everyday driver, with alot of "wow" factor.any advice is great advice, thanks guys, richie

400-500 hp is no big thing...proper machine work ....005 deck kinda thing...I'd use a set of those 440'sRus alum heads ($800 or so for a new alum heads is hard to beat) and a 245@50 cam and your there :Twocents:
