I just bit the bullett and bough the complete Fronte end supecr polygraphite set up from PST. II also got the fronntand a rear sway bar, and kyb shocks.  While crawling in and around the underside of my car I noticed that the OIL Pan  WAS OEVRLY DOEN WITH SOME KINDA GOOP/CAULK/ and I want to remove and replace trhe thing. It kinda lookks beat up. Just wanted to knopw where I can get a replacement that is right for my 383 engine and hopefully not terribly expensive. I saw a chrome one for sale, which would be cool, but its is kinda hard to see when you go down the road and defeats the chrome coolness.  I also saw where there are some that say they are rear pick-up, or extra deep pick up wit a six or seven quart capacity.  Any suggestions on this oil pan exchange/replacement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!

They are pretty widely available depending on what you want to use it for.  If you just want a stock replacement, I believe you can still get them from Chrysler.

I think just a stock replacement will do, I am not looking to turn it into a trailer quenn, hopefully a real weekend cruiser/part time bruiser....
There sure seemed to be a lot of the goop I guess the previous owner used instead of or along with the gasket.  Thanks for the input, i'll probably try and get one ordered by the weekend!!!!

It may only show up as a Mopar Performance part in which case, the number should be P5249064 for a big block rear sump pan.

or use the Hemi pan & pick up from Mancinis

Thanks for the information Chryco, once again some sage advice.  I am awaiting the front end from PST, any hints on what I can do to prep my car before it arrives to speed uip the process?  I was wondering, I see in another companies literature about a torsion bar removal tool, won't a large Vice-grip or a decent sized Cresent wrench work??  This will have to be done almost entirely as a low buck one man repair/replacement.   I let the guy talk me into the 10 dollar video figured I cant go wrong, I already have the shop manuals and the glove box guide....I guess we will see how much the wife really loves me the next few week ends!!!!! :P

Do they have a oil pick up for the standerd oil inlet Neil? If they do, Hemi pan would not be a bad idea.

Try MP pickup number P5007818 Ken.

I always pull the T bars by loosening the nut on the lower control arm pin & prying the LCA & T bar back together , the T bar will just about fall out , using vice grips on a T bar can damage it & cause it to fail , definatly NOT recommended unless you are scrapping the T bars

O K, Other than the obvious start by pulling the front wheels off...are there any hints as to what I can do to prepare for  this rebuild?   I was thinking about only lifting the front end, leaving the rear with the wheels in touch with the ground and blocking it.  Would it help to coat the old stuff with some wd-40 ????

I feel kinda like a kid again waiting fro Christmas...the whole shipment is due here by Wednesday, maybe Thursday at the latest....I'll keep ya posted.  Once again, any and all information would be greatly appreciated and any hints or tips will be appreciated,Too!!!

Keep on Chargin Folks!!!!!!

WD-40 will do nothing , depending how rusted everything is a good penetrating oil like liquid wrench or Mopar brand can make a huge difference in disassembling the parts though

jacking the front & leaving the rear on the ground will be fine
