ive found a charger  I like but the engine is #'s matching, but the 4 speed tranny is not. would that hurt the value much? 70 440-6 pk car, just 4 speed is a replacement.

not worth anything, i'll give ya $1000 for it ;-)

seriously, I wouldn't think it would effect it much. But then again, i'm not a numbers matching guy.

Buy that car now or I will! Even if the trans is not original to the car that is no reason to pass on a 440 6pk. car!!! These cars are hard to come by so take advantage of this deal before someone else does! Don't wait a minute longer, call them or call me!

I think if anything the engine matters....tranny not really unless it is a museum quality collector car. 440+6, 4spd should have a Dana....stop thinking and pull the trigger before someone else does!

If anything....use this point to try and knock a few bucks off  :D

The only numbers that matter are Torque and Horsepower numbers.  :Twocents:

That's a good one.  I sold my vette to buy the Charger, I always said it had numbers matching engine and never mentioned the trani because I don't think it was?  One person asked about the trani and all I said was "  Got me? "  Was never an issue when I sold it, but the motor matching helped the sale.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
