Am I the only one out of 193 people that read this post that was disturbed at the response of Hemihead? :scratchchin:  I am a lurker.  I am not an oldtimer with 8,000 posts.  I do appreciate the time that any one puts into a reply wether it is right or wrong. No body knows everything.  Nacho does his best to provide help to anyone asking.  I have read many topics where he has helped.   :2thumbs:   Keep up the good work Nacho.  All the other arrogant pricks can kiss my ass.

No, you are not the only one. Its not something new. I would compare hemiheads posts to a pile of dung on a city sidewalk. You can either walk past them and ignore them, or you can stop and say "who crapped on the sidewalk"

SEE, THIS IS WHY I DON'T COME OVER TO THIS SITE VERY OFTEN..

Yes, there's a lot of members with a lot of helpful knowledge,
and yes more exposure to a problem results in more solutions, BUT:

One has to read idiotic, moronic, prejudicial, racist, and ignorant posts
from unenlightened cretins who should realize this is the 21st century
and social, ethnic, and racial slurs are simply not done.

Any other site would have deleted or locked you as soon as you
wrote that 1st reply of yours, hemitom, and would have been
rightfully justified in doing it....I wish this one would have....

As Twilt says, does one step in you, or does one step around you.

You are completely out of line, here, hemi, and if you don't want to accept
other member's responses without replying with a personal attack on
them, then YOU need to get on a forum that's not Public...

You could fill it up with backwards jerks like yourself, and then be
really happy!!

OLD TIMER?...Old timer at what?

...Arrogance, Racism, and Insulent Impudence??

I am tired of this childish crap myself.  When I was young I was taught that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything.  We are here to help others and learn more along the way. We have members here that know allot and those that don't know much. ALL OF US ARE LEARNING.

Today's lesson is:  STOP ACTING LIKE A 2 YEAR OLD. IF YOU WANT RESPECT YOU HAVE TO SHOW RESPECT. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING RESPECTABLE AND HELPFUL TO ADD TO THE TOPIC, MOVE ON. DO NOT START CRAP WITH OTHER MEMBERS. IT JUST LOWERS THE SITE AND MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A CHILD.

I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO SAY THIS AGAIN.   Now it's going to fall away locked.

jlb1pi,  I hope you will come around more.  99.9% of this site is well worth it.

jlb1pi, I agree with everything you said.  My own preferences aside, Troy has chosen to make the site more open to differences of opinion as long as they do not get personal.  hemihead's latest tact crosses that line, and has resulted in:

1.  Getting this thread locked
2.  Showing people how insensitive some folks can (unfortunately) still be
3.  Discouraging Nacho from participating in a forum where he serves as a wonderful resource
4.  Reinforcing your stated opinion about why you don't come to DC.com often

There is a fine line between allowing expression of opinions and giving people the idea that a license to offend exists.  Some sites, as you've alluded, do clamp down quickly and harshly on those who even hint at conflict.  When stuff like this happens, it makes me understand why guys like Tom (Moparts.com) have taken that approach.  Until Troy gets a belly full of knuckleheaded behavior and adopts the same standards, we will be stuck with the occasional outburst.  When that happens, you'll be presented with the choice twilt spelled out:  Focus on the crap, or ignore it and move on.  For those who are not personally involved in such attacks, it is best to move on.  We (the Mods) will have to deal with the situation to keep those who ARE the focus of such attacks from either escalating the exchange or - worse yet - being offended to the point that they refrain from participating.

Thank you for the response you gave (and for the other relatively restrained replies others have posted as well).  If you guys wonder why threads like this remain visible on the Forum, it is so others can read and get the benefit of the "real" information in the thread - and so the few who do see a need to stir up strife can perhaps learn what types of comments are not welcomed.
