Hey guys-  I've just recently returned to the board after a long time away.  Just wondering if anyone knows of a member who used to be called Tom Wopat, but for some reason I think he changed his username quite a while ago.  He was a member of the old board.  His first name was Aaron and he's a pretty young guy from Michigan.  About 6 years ago (he was 15 or 16), I posted a wanted ad on here for a #'s matching non-vinyl top 68' R/T 4-speed and he e-mailed me about a guy named Bud in Wisconsin who had exactly what I was looking for.  Turns out it was a #'s matching 68' R/T 4-speed and when I got out to take a look at it, Bud showed me the original title signed by Mr. Norm from Grand Spaulding Dodge.  Got super lucky, since Bud worked for the Wisconsin DMV for the last 20 years he had all the documentation and copies of all previous titles and owners of the car.  The real kicker was, it cost me $2500 and came with A LOT of NOS parts and steel!  Lucky for me, and VERY unlucky for Aaron, his parents wouldn't let him buy it so he very graciously passed the info on to me.  I know I saw a little write up about him in one of the Mopar magazines a few years ago.  According to the story in the magazine he had bought 2 1970 GTX's and had them hidden at a buddies house or something and when his parents found out they made hime sell em' off!  Sounds to me like the ideal situation for a child to be emancipated from his parents!  Anyhoo, he'd be in his very early 20's now and was wondering if he's still into the Mopar scene.  I'd like to track him down and buy him about a million beers or something.  THANKS!  tipopiola  :2thumbs:

Sounds like an awesome dude. I bought a 67 T-Bird about 3 years back (im 19 now) and when i told my pops he kept a secret but found a good time to tell mom and she graciously said i could keep it in the garage...well it turned into a huge project and she knew it wasent gonna be done for a LONG time....so when i found a 73 SE a month or so back, she laid out the money and told me to sell off all the T-Bird crap and pay her back when i get the money. Im lucky to have parents who understand. Because if i found that charger and they turned it down id sure be PISSED, especially if they made me sell the car i already bought.
