My new ride http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,39025.msg430021.html#msg430021 is paid for, the signed pink in hand and only awaiting the FedEx Passport carrier to come by and pick it up! In the meantimeI thought I would share a few cool photos that the owner sent me. They were taken at the 1997 Boerne, Texas, TDG show and present my car with one of the original 19 General Lees left that Wayne Wooten negotiated to have purchased from Warner Brothers by the Dodge Charger Registry members. This particular GL was purchased for $3,500 in 1989, and I'm told that Waylon Jennings also bought one. Fun stuff!  :2thumbs:

I had always thought that WB had given a GL to Waylon.  In either case, I guess it doesn't really matter, the fact is he did indeed own one however he got it.

Cool pics btw.  :2thumbs:

Your car looks great.  :2thumbs:
Can't get any more back-in-the-day than a '68 with a vinyl top and factory hubcaps.

That scene must have made an interesting comparison.  The 2nd-gen Charger is a car that can look SO clean and classy, or SO crude and brutal just depending on the treatment.

The original GLs look incredibly rough to modern eyes.  Even the ones that were used for filming close-up, let alone the ugly stunt cars.  That issue alone is enough to tell a real TV-series survivor from a fan built replica.

WB DID give one to Waylon, I got a magazine article on it.   ;)   The story goes that the first time Waylon saw a GL he mentioned how he liked the car and WB gave him one.

I think your '68 looks great!  The only changes I'd make would be the skinny 3/8" whitewalls like I have and (15x7) Magnum 500's ...assuming it came with the white-stripes and not white-walls as shown.  That's an Awesome Car!  :2thumbs:

Here's that same GL sounding the famous horn:icon_smile_big:

Nice find, although I did have to wait through almost the entire video before I saw and heard the GL!  And where was my car?
