rain gutters with vinyl roof cover

my 74 charger se brougham has rain gutters that are covered in the same material as the vinyl roof

I need to replace the vinyl on the roof and would like to redo the rain gutters in chrome  is this correct? or a bad thing?

I don't know much about third generation Charger's but on my '69 that has a vinyl top, the material wraps over the drip rail and then has a stainless steel moulding that goes over top of that.

Perhaps your car was missing the drip rail mouldings.

I think he is referring to the Drip Rail moldings that are textured to look like the Vinyl Top material . It would not be correct per se but I have seen worse things .
