Coronet & Charger Jacks

Were the 68-69 bumper jacks the same same for most B Bodies, or did they vary from car to car?

I noticed that the 69 New Yorker jack I had was the same EXCEPT for the "L" shaped flat part.  Fortunately, I've got a 69 Charger jack for my car.  But I am thinking that a enterprising individual could fabricate a "correct" jack using a New Yorker jack as a starting point.  If I ever get any free time, I am going to give it a try.  I doubt that any of us would use the factory jack to actually jack the car up anyway so it's more or less just for show.  Just a crazy idea.

That's a good point. For 99% of us, the jack would just be along for the ride & never used. Not a bad idea to try.

Why is that?  By today's standards are they considered unsafe, or are you talking about non-roadside use like at home where you would use a floor jack?

Non roadside use because you don't want to "jack up" your nicely rechromed bumpers...  no pun intended

I have a small scissor jack from a Ferd that I carry in my tool box in an emergency
