some loved, some hated.

Loved becase the stock performance... 800 cfm on the smaller. Gas economy and better profit, with isolated temp bowl that keeps cooler the gas and smoother venturis because the plastic clean/polished material. Spreadbore carb, so you will need a later manifold or an adaptor to fit on your car.

some ppl call them thermobog because the look to have a "black hole" on response when quick full throttle. dunno if for real since I never experienced that on mine, even true I never raced it. however TQs first useage and purpouse were racing ( 4000 series ) and as far I know still being used and searched fro racers ( those who search someting diff from holley race carbs )

Hated because when they start to fail, specially because the weak bowl, ( cracks, leaks ) they are REALLY HARD to get fixed and tuned again. If you get a leak, better trash it and get another one, or replace for a PROOVED perfect bowl. Unless leak is just on epoxy glue what is easy to fix`. For replacement bowl just note I have seen around 8-10 diff kind of bowls, some interchangeable nome not.

Those numbers are not the Carb number. They look to be top plate numbers. Just a PN.

check for baseplate stamped numbers at rear left corner.

Piece of cake to rebuilt and calibrate, when they are perfect.

The three critical points are ( in my experience ):
-Bowl wells epoxy glue
-O rings on bowl
-Choke linkage... need to be graduated with care and attention on instructions if they were accidentally bended or wrong adjusted.
