I have nearly finished the restoration of my 69 Charger RT and when I finally hooked the battery up and began going thru everything to test, I ended up with this:

left headlights :OK brights and lows and running light
Right headlights no brights and dim lows no running light
dash lights: none except console and dome light when in full on position
signal lights: right signal comes on (F R and dash) but no blinky
                 left nothing
Tail lights: going from outer to inner left side dim bright bright right side bright dim dim so it looks like this from behind car DBB  BDD
wipers work
brake lights work on left side only

Checked all grounds with a meter and all are good.......Any ideas? I'd LOVE to hear them!!!!!
Thanks in advance for any CONSTRUCTIVE ideas on this problem lol
Peace

that's weird because mostly of wiring is spliced from one side to the other from same wire, except on turning and brake lights of course.

headlights specially, the ground is common coming from radiator support source and same as the positive source. So must be a wiring problem, some broken in teh way from one side to the other.

Parking lights are definitelly grouded from chassis, so that could it be some to check individually.

Dunno how is on 69 rears, but on 73/74 ground is also common from trunk reinforcement ground and then wired.

Beside that, bulb sockets could it be some individually rusted so damaged and getting poor negative pole.

On dash, could it be cluster ground.

turning lights I just can think on damaged column switch since you are also having just left brakes ( shares same wires but feeding both sides at the same time ). AND flasher.

Check hazzards.

Yes, re-used old harness, but I put it through my washing machine first (just kidding) I ordered all new harnesses from YO for the car so hopefully that will fix it up, I just thought it odd that all the probs were on the pass side. I got new flashers today and it made the left turn signals flash as supposed to. Emergency lights come on and flash but just left side. Strange one eh?

As a side note, I want to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation of this site. I'd have never gotten as far as I have without all the insight and info this site offers. I will be 50 in April and first fell in love with the 69 Dodge Charger in 69 My father purchased one brand new, I loved that car, all my friends were extremely jealous, I couldn't wait till I turned 16........The racing around, The chicks, the fun............  Alas My parents sold it 3 weeks before that all important 16th birthday boo hoo hoo. But now they find it really amusing that I have 4 of these cars and am nearly able to drive the first in what I hope to be a long line of these vehicles that I treasure so much!!!! This site helped me when stuck, guided me when lost, and inspired when tired!!! YOU GUYS ARE ROCKSTARS!!!!!!!

Peace to all

just left brakes and hazzards, makes me think definitelly column switch.

do you have brakes on left with right turning signal and backwards ?

pretty much weird you got left tunring signal just changing flasher. no matter the side, turning signals comes from same flasher

OOPs I was mistaken, It should've read like this

left headlights :OK brights and lows and running light
Right headlights no brights and dim lows no running light
dash lights: none except console and dome light when in full on position
signal lights: LEFT signal comes on (F R and dash) but no blinky
                Right nothing
Tail lights: going from outer to inner left side dim bright bright right side bright dim dim so it looks like this from behind car DBB  BDD
wipers work
brake lights work on left side only

I thought there were a low amount of comments/replies to this problem now I see why! DUH on me

Ok, now has some more sense to me and definitely the blinkers malfunction and brakes sounds to me like the turning signal on column

the diff half sides comportament is more simply some wiring stuff from one to the other side, but not related with underdash wiring, since both sides are feeded from same source and wire underdash

Still having this problem, got new harnesses, Headlights all work good, front right parking light doesn't come on unless in turn signal mode. Rear lights are as follows (looking at from back of car D=dim B=Bright DBB   BDD. Right Blinkers work unless lights are on. Right Dash turn indicator stays on when lights are on, left works perfectly? !! Is this because of the column switch? Thanks HELP NACHO

I would say you have a bad ground somewhere. I had the same problem with my charger, and also my grandpas barracuda.
