The #88 photo is actually the fake #88 being presented to NASCAR at Daytona "around" 1974.    This is the car now in the Talladega museum, and is a 1968 Bobby Isaac Charger that was sent to the Proving Grounds to become the first Daytona with the hand made nose and wing. .

so thats the fake one .......      so the original had all ready be bodied to a later model at this point , so as far as the story went that i have read a bout , the original 88  started its life as a road going 69 500 .....
