bought my 74 R/R from Mike Bennet in malvern arkansas too. I found it while looking for a challenger. I couldn't afford the chally and was about to leave when I saw the R/R sitting all alone, painted flat black to cover up the rusty spots. and fell in love :drool5: he worked with me and the rest is history. Mikes a good man and he too is a mopar fan. thanx Mike :2thumbs: Tom

I found a triple black '68 Charger for sale along a backroad locally, and had designs on a Hemi/4-speed conversion for it.  I bought it and drove it around for a couple of years, while I was collecting parts for the conversion.  About halfway through getting everything together I totalled up the price of the remaining parts & bodywork needed to be done to the car, and it was WAY more than what decent original Hemicars were going for at the time (mid 1990s).  So, I kept an eye on Hemmings for an authentic '69 4-speed Hemicar, and called on an ad for my R/T within 45 minutes of spying it.  Had to check with the wife first, or I'd have called even sooner

I found out about the project Daytona while parts scrounging for engine detail parts on the R/T.  It took almost 2 years to finalize the deal to purchase that car and get it home.  The guy I was buying Hemi parts from knew about the car, and after he told me about it he tried not to give me the contact info.  It was already too late...   :icon_smile_big:  As it turns out, the gentleman who sold me the Daytona has turned out to be a great friend and we stay in regular (often daily) contact.

The convertible has just gone in for a full resto. Under what discussion group should I post its progress? Can you enlighten me.

My buddy has a '73 T/A, was his high school car.  It influenced me into getting a '77 T/A my last two years of high school.  Sweet collection you have.
I'm sure folks here would like your Chally progress pix but some Chally specific sites I visit are:

GTX

I found my GTX along the side of a road at a service station back when I moved back from Maui in the 80's. Sold it and then found it again 5 years later via a local guru (Steve H) who was then working at a different Mopar parts counter. It was still in town but owned by some guy in Nevada and I bought it back, that was 1989. Been through many changes since then........

Bought the current Charger from a guy up north who had a bunch of muscle cars for sale. He used to find them and drag them home and sell them to people to restore. I think he recently liquidated his entire yard full of cars.

72 Cuda we found it at Carlisle 1993, outside the fairgrounds.  The 413 was in and it was painted, we did the interior, I drove this car daily for 6 years. Rebuilt the trans 1994.  1996 put on Ralley wheels & wing.  Ran the heck out of the beast, this one is going back on the road 2008.  Cuda has been tucked away in the garage since 2002.  Needs a bit of TLC and elbow grease.  I ned to install the 323 before she goes out on the street again.

68 Roadrunner advertised in the local paper 1994, cheap the guy needed money to get his brother out of jail.  This one spent it's life on the track 1/4 mile at a time.  Low mileage, the 383 is gone it was replaced with a 400, which I am thinking about stroking this one.  The rear wheel openings are flared to accomodate large tires.  I want to leave this since it was done early in the life of this car.

68 Coronet 440 another find in the local paper 1999, all original, 318 AT, 4 door it's all there and everything works.  It's soon going back on the road, we have polyglass tires on this one.  We have talked about a clone Cop car with this one.

75 Dodge D100 Custom, this was in the family since new, my inheritance 2000.  The bed is a bit rusty but it looks OK runs strong. This is the Carlisle truck that's about the only trip she gets any more, just in case I find parts I have someplace to put them.

91 Chrysler TC by Maserati,  My man found this in MO, 2000, I hooked him up with a ride with a long haul truck driver.  He dropped him off at a truck stop outside St Louis  the owner brought the car up to him, he drove it home to PA.

68 Dodge Charger, 383, 4 speed.  We know a guy from Dillsburg, who had this for sale 2004, we thought about this one over the winter.  Spring came the Charger was still there, the rest is history.  Put a set of Magnum 500 wheels on this summer, need a tail stripe, has the Dixie horns.  We have a blast with this car.
