Hi All
I have a 1973 Charger SE
I am trying to remove the clock from the cluster gauge housing
It is a clock not a tic-toc-tack

I have to fix the blue light housing for the clock

How does the stem or stem cap come off?

Thanks

need to remove the knob... consist on an inside screw and then the outer knob... need to remove the inner screw.

Thanks Nacho-RT74

There is no screw nut   :brickwall:
It looks like it is jammed on.
I can not see any thing inside the turning knob, but the stem.
It looks like I will have to cut off the turning knob and replace it?  :eek2:

Anybody have any ideas? :scratchchin:

Thanks

ok, then I have no idea how is the outside knob ( what is really the knob, nut is just the retainer ) attached... unles was glued somehow.
I'll try to take a pic and post how it is...

The outside of the knob is good

I have tried clamping the stem and turn the knob, the stem turns.
I can not clamp the stem tight enough.

Like you stated I think they might have glued it on. :RantExplode:

I think I might change the cluster to one that has a tach in it and replace the speedo

Thanks again

If you want a tach you dont need a new cluster, just pull the clock out and the tach fits in its place.  But yeah if you want a 150 mph speedo, now would be the time to do it.   :yesnod:

I think I might have showed you mine when you came by last summer but heres a pic anyway.

the knob will allways turn with stem because assembly is keyed coded ( if that's the right way to say it ) to fit knob on place without keep spining loose from steem. Then the screw/nut keeps in place the knob on stem.

Imposible turn one without turns the other one, that's the purpouse of the keyed area. You need just PULL the knob out of stem once screw/nut is removed ( or loosen ).

If you want, crimp the stem and then PULL the knob
